Building 2SLGBTQI+ Inclusive Tourism in Southern Ontario

About the Project

This project is funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

The Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) will expand its service delivery across Southern Ontario by supporting inclusive tourism through business training, information sessions, and accreditation. The project includes outreach efforts, development of new inclusion training modules, and partnership with key tourism groups to promote Southern Ontario as an inclusive travel destination.

Form
10 New Partnerships
across Southern Ontario

This project will establish 10 new partnerships with Regional Tourism Organizations (RTOs), Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), tourism associations, and community-based organizations across Southern Ontario. These partnerships are expected to drive visitor attraction by promoting inclusivity in the Southern Ontario communities and businesses.


Create
2 New Training Modules
on 2SLGBTIQ+ Inclusion

These funded training modules will offer an introductory session focused on foundational concepts of 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion as well as scenario-based learning, with a deeper exploration of inclusive leadership, and actionable strategies to embed equity and inclusion across tourism environments.


Train or Mentor
100 Individuals
across Southern Ontario

This projects will train 100 individuals from across Southern Ontario to build capacity for inclusive tourism within their communities. Equipped with the skills to foster welcoming spaces for 2SLGBTQI+ visitors, these individuals will drive positive change and help create more inclusive destinations throughout the region.

45 Businesses
as Rainbow Registered

Rainbow Registered Accreditation program assesses inclusive policies and practices, guiding tourism businesses on their journey to creating more welcoming and inclusive experiences for everyone. By achieving this accreditation, these businesses will help set the benchmark for 2SLGBTQI+ inclusivity in the tourism sector.
